Style Noir
Style Noir
by Constance White
Synopsis
Shows Black women how they can express African culture in their way of dress, including hair braiding styles and accessories.
Review from Delia Pitts from Fort Worth, Texas
A lively, but surprisingly thorough and scholarly examination of the history and current trends in Black fashion and style. The fresh approach to dressing for the corporate environment and the exhaustive look at the African textile sources of modern design were especially welcome. I find I turn back to this book every day as I plan what to wear to work and I have become more adventurous and stylish as a result. We need more books like this one!
